Sustainable

In this way we conserve resources and make a contribution to a future worth living in

Concept: to make a sustainable contribution

We have decided to develop concepts that are both as climate-neutral and resource-saving as possible. It is also important to us that our solutions for development and energy supply in real estate can be used worldwide. With our considerations regarding series production, we also want to be a role model for using the available resources sparingly.

We see it as our task to find suitable solutions for the buildings of the future by solving simultaneously the contradiction between climate protection and resource conservation. This motivates us to implement the best concepts and at the same time to use the most advanced technologies. The building modules developed by us lead to the shortest construction time and yet still achieve the highest quality standards. When designing our product lines, we pay close attention to their later use.

At the same time, we develop products that are aimed at very different target groups. In order to create living space for every age group and life situation as quickly as possible. We manufacture basic modules that we can make available in large numbers at short notice.

The core of our business is always based on the question of using only materials that are renewable.

That is why we love wood as a building material.

Global warming has long since started and, even with the best global efforts in terms of climate protection, it will at best be slowed down or stopped in the next 200 years. Almost all leading scientists consider a reversal to be impossible. It will get warmer worldwide but especially in the temperate and polar regions, and whether this will be “only” two or four degrees per year, is still a matter of discussion for science. The increase over the next few decades will be somewhere in between. If we assume that in the year 2050 the temperatures in our latitudes will be two degrees higher than the long-term average for the period 1981-2010, then we will be in a completely different climate region. And we are already noticing changes today. The temperatures in many regions are already 1 to 2 degrees above the values

But what does an increase of two degrees mean? This can be illustrated by a simple comparison. The average annual temperature in Berlin in 2014 was around 52 degrees Fahrenheit. If you add two degrees to this, you are in a climate region that roughly corresponds to the climatic zone of Bordeaux in France.

Rank The 10 warmest years 1880-2019

Highlights:

  • In 2019, the average temperature over the global land and sea surface was 1. 71°F (0. 95°C) above the 20th century average of 57. 0°F (13. 9°C), making it the second warmest year on record.
  • The global annual temperature has increased since 1880 at an average rate of 0. 13°F (0. 07°C) per decade and since 1981 at more than double the rate (+0. 18°C / +0. 32°F).
  • From 1900 to 1980, a new temperature record was set on average every 13. 5 years; since 1981, it has increased to every 3 years.

The graph shows the global combined annual average of land and ocean temperatures for each of the ten warmest recorded years and the anomaly.

CO2 Neutral

CO₂ neutral energy concepts:

The energy transition will keep us very busy over the next few decades.

Interestingly, the building sector is one of the largest greenhouse gas emitters in Germany. In order to achieve the climate goals, changes are urgently needed here:

For example, old oil and gas heating systems have to be replaced with modern CO₂ neutral forms of heat generation.

Only if we all work together to create this change, we will be able to preserve a world worth living in for the future generations. This encourages us. That is why we do not just develop conventional buildings or residential districts. Together with our Advisory board, we develop energy supply solutions that make sustainable sense.

By the way, we are also actively involved in the reforestation of forests.

We favor Electricity and Energy storage

“Power-to Heat”: Heat from excess electricity

For many years we have been dealing with the effects of energy policy considerations on social development, paying particular attention to the effects on the real estate sector. As a result, we have developed supply solutions that especially meet the needs of our customers. We store the energy that you will need at a later point in time already in advance. With our partners we have the right concepts at hand. We would be happy to advise you about the available options.

As regards modern energy concepts, most people think of combined heat and power plants, photovoltaics, and wind energy. We think further ahead because the electricity and heat supply must be considered together.

Our concept is based on the “Power-to-heat” method – heat from excess electricity. Germany currently produces an electricity surplus worth billion. The electricity is exported abroad because the power plant capacities are enormous. The plant capacities must cover the maximum peaks of the possible power consumption and have the capacity of buffer storage.

Most of the time, therefore, not all power plant resources are connected to the grid. So, electricity is available in abundance, but not always. The real challenge is the intelligent seasonal storage of energy, i.e. over a longer period, for example from summer to winter.

Lithium-ion-based battery storage systems are only suitable for short-term overnight storage. They would be too expensive as long-term storage. The use of hydrogen as an energy storage medium, which is obtained from excess green electricity via an electrolysis system, is currently the subject of much discussion. And conventional gas heating systems can be converted so that in the future they will run on hydrogen instead of natural gas. This technology is still in its infancy though. However, electricity can already be converted directly into heat today.

Our concept is based on highly insulated water tanks:

These can store heat for a long time and can be easily installed in any boiler room and especially in our buildings. The energy stored there in the form of heat, which was obtained from excess electricity, can then not only be used for heating but also, of course, for cooling in summer. At the same time, with our Power-to-heat concept we also achieve a reduction in costs, both in terms of investment and the subsequent maintenance.

Social affairs: Housing must remain affordable

We are not only concerned about climate change. The great demand for real estate has led to the increasing prices worldwide. More and more people are pouring into the cities in search of better prospects, which results in an increase that the housing supply can no longer meet. In addition, the regulations for the construction of buildings are becoming increasingly extensive. Both of these factors mean that for many inquiries there are no offers with reasonable prices. However, thanks to modular production we are able to fulfil the regulations with the highest quality and at the same time maintain an affordable price level.

Sustainable for society: a partner for municipalities

We see ourselves as a partner for all questions related to the creation of housing, schools, day-care centers, offices. With our innovative approach we ensure the rapid, cost-efficient and sustainable creation of buildings that serve residential purposes and municipal requirements. Together with the municipality, we analyze the needs and implement the projects quickly. We reduce the project and construction times by more than half!
